Raw Vegan On A Busy Stressful Day

I found out my daughter miscarried her baby last night. And my other daughter lost her babysitter and called for help so she could still go to work. So, I was helping another daughter get her truck fixed and packed up with her two kids, so she could drive the two hours and help her sister with baby sitting. So, I’ve been on the run since early this morning. When I got hungry about 1:00 pm, I realized I hadn’t taken my vitals or brought anything with me to eat. With fast food restaurants and their smells at every corner, I was tempted. But, I went to the grocery store instead, determined to stay the course. As I glazed over the fruit, my stomach was so hungry I didn’t think a piece of fruit was going to do any good. But, I decided to eat an apple first, and then see how I felt. The apple tasted so good. It was sweet and filling! Yes, that’s right, it was filling! I wasn’t hungry anymore. I was able to finish my errands; visit my daughter, who miscarried, go grocery shopping and pick up another daughter and bring her to her friends for a sleep over.(Yes, I have a lot of daughters: 7!)During all this I became hungry again about 4:00 pm. I ate another apple I bought and continued with my day. I decided this would be a good time to have an apple day since my weight loss had stopped and I already ate 2 apples anyway. Well, later that night I wasn’t even hungry. So, that’s all I ate the whole day- 2 apples! I promised myself I would listen to my body and only eat when I was hungry, not just because it was time to eat or because someone made something for me to eat. Sometimes my husband makes me a green smoothie in the morning and I save it until I’m hungry, usually in the afternoon. Another great successful day!
